Fire breaks out at Nerul pharma unit

NAVI MUMBAI: A fire broke out at Micro Pan Pharmacy in Shiravane MIDC, Nerul node on Tuesday morning, gutting the two-storey unit, and engulfing two adjacent factories.

Fire officials were not intimated immediately as factory workers tried to douse the flames. Sub fire officer Suresh Bholar said short circuit seemed to be cause of the fire.

Solvents used in the factory fed the flames, he added. It took three hours to extinguish the fire. - George Mendonca
